John Donoghue is a Henry Merritt Wriston Professor at the Brown University in Providence. His lab focuses on the representations of complex information by populations of neurons. He uses novel multielectrode recording arrays to study neural coding and how these representations change when a new motor skill is learned. This knowledge of neural coding of movement is applied to build brain computer interfaces, which can potentially be used as neural prosthetics for individuals with paralysis. Read more...
