Georg Keller receives SNSF Starting Grant

Georg Keller, Junior group leader at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research, has been awarded an SNSF Starting Grant. These SNSF Starting Grants have been installed as a transitional measure for the Swiss research community after the exclusion of Switzerland from the European Research Council (ERC) Horizon 2020 program. The level of funding, the duration and the funding conditions are closely aligned with those of the ERC.

Georg Keller will receive around 1.5 million CHF for his research over the next 5 years. He joins FMI group leaders Mohamed Bentires-Alj, Marc Bühler, Helge Grosshans, Botond Roska, Dirk Schübeler and Nicolas Thomä who have all also received an ERC Starting Grant, and Silvia Arber, who received an ERC Advanced Grant. Georg Keller is studying how we process sensory information in the brain.
